If you observe differences in the font rendering after upgrading Zulu or migrating to Zulu and need to switch to the previous style of text display add the following environment variable setting in the application start script:
On Linux and macOS:
Since Zulu 8.25 a newer version of libfreetype is used which defaults to the v40 rendering method.
Using the setting as described above switches back to the previous version v35. Depending on the fonts used by the application the hinting details are interpreted differently which can lead to changes in the stroke width and pixel alignment of vertical glyph lines.
