Since Azul Platform Prime version 19.07 sudo or root privileges are no longer needed when installing on current Operating System versions.
This is possible as since that version, the ZST component, a Linux system service, is not needed anymore on most Operating Systems.
To check if your Operating System version already allows to run without ZST refer to the System Requirements page: https://docs.azul.com/prime/Sys-Reqs
To be more precise: To install RPM or DEB packages of Azul Platform Prime you still need sudo or root access due to the nature of these packaging systems, but now you can also install and run just from the tar.gz package which we offer in addition.
